I am a general partner and co-founder of Southern Capitol Ventures, a venture capital firm in Raleigh, NC. We focus on partnering with outstanding entrepreneurs in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic. We've invested in companies like Art.com, ChannelAdvisor, Global Value Commerce and ArtusLabs. Personally, I am very interested in software, e-commerce and digital media.
As quick background, I moved to NC back in 1998 to join Red Hat and was part of the finance & operations team. We went public in August '99. Before Red Hat, I was a partner at Harrison Hurley & Company, an investment banking and business-consulting firm headquartered in Providence, RI. I opened the firm's fourth office in Tampa, FL.
I'm on the board of ReverbNation, board observer at eTix and DoublePositive and I am on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors for the Council for Entrepreneurial Development in RTP. CED is the largest entrepreneurial support organization in the nation.
I was on the board of Batanga which merged with Planeta Networks and was on the board of Synthematix which sold to Symyx Technologies.
I am a frequent Guest Lecturer for the Engineering Entrepreneurs Program at NC State University.
I grew up in Fall River, MA, am a Bentley College grad and a huge Red Sox fan.
My wife Jennifer and I live in Raleigh, NC.
